THE UNEXPECTED KING

There once was a virgin who wasn't named Alice,
Who gave birth to a King right there in the
Stable in a small town under the star,
That had led some unfoolish men so very
Rich that they gave to the young King there gold,
Bowwing and praising as the prophets for
Centuries had written 'twould be when He came,
The great King of kings, greater than all the others,
Living His life for the glory of God,
The Servant of all, the glorious King of kings.
The Boy went to the City when not yet a teen,
But on the caravan back nowhere was He
Discovered by those who searched high and low.
When found in the Temple He asked, "Didn't you
Realize I must obey My Father's commands?"
Yet He put Himself back in His parents'
Home, not yet ready to declare Himself
The great King of kings, greater than all the others,
Living His life for the glory of God,
The Servant of all, the glorious King of kings.
As a young man Jesus went out to teach
Though but a hewer in cedar and
Chose for His students the least likely ones,
Teaching to heal, free and feed by the
Thousands any who would dare open an ear,
Repent of their sins and let God's Word come
Into their hearts and into their lives,

Not one would go with Him the day that He
Offered His life, the pure sacrifice of
The pure Lamb of God, purer than all the others,

Replacing their fear with the peace He did
